Best Ramen in Singapore

           Source: Keisuke

I bet everyone here has heard of Ramen, a noodle soup dish served in various flavored soup with many toppings! Ramen noodles are normally made from wheat flour and oil. There are four main types of Japanese ramen namely; Shio, Shoyu, Miso, and my favorite, Tonkotsu base! Shio is salt-based, Miso is soybean paste flavored, Shoyu is soy sauce-based and Tonkotsu is pork bone broth-based.

To all Ramen Lovers out there, I would like to introduce you to some of my friends and my favorite Ramen dishes in Singapore! 😍

Nantsuttei Ramen Adventure

Nantsuttei Ramen, one of my friends' @gladyironchef, favorite ramen shops in Singapore. It was also recommended by the popular food gourmet, Daniel Food Diary! Nestled in a small corner on the seventh floor of Orchard Central, this small shop is a hidden gem right in the heart of town. Pictured here is the original Nantsuttei Ramen. It's rich and creamy, a solid Tonkotsu broth that will make you come begging for more. Luckily, most of the options on the menu are generally cheaper than other ramen shops, with prices starting at $10.80 per bowl. There is no reason to go to Ajisen anymore! She recommends this spot because of its thick yet clean-tasting broth which very clearly screams "pig". If you have a strong tasting palette, you would love Nantsuttei. As for the ambiance, it is a relatively small and cozy place, perfect for a date!

Tonkotsu Ramen Regular costs $10.80

Keisuke Tonkotsu King Adventure

This is another popular ramen place in Singapore, if you love ramen, you would have heard of Keisuke! This was also strongly recommended by famous food gourmets such as ladyironchef and Seth Lui! There are multiple Keisuke Ramen outlets in Singapore and I have been to at least 2 of their outlets, not to mention the number of times I have visited the same outlet! The taste is really good and the quality of the broth left me wanting more! According to my friend, she said it felt as though they used the bones of 1000 pigs in making the broth! The meat will melt in your mouth and the flavor of it feels like it was soaking in the marinade for a very long time. The noodles were cooked just right for my tasting!

During Covid phase two, they ensure the hygiene by only giving us the condiments and eggs when we were seated rather than leaving it out in the open and the staffs were very friendly when I asked about the difference between the soup broths!

Price

Tonkotsu Ramen with Flavored Egg costs $11.90
Black Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen costs $10.90
Red Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen costs $10.90

As mentioned previously, Seth Lui recommended Tonkotsu-King ramen in their review on the best Japanese ramen in Singapore, and Keisuke Tonkotsu King Ramen was ranked one of the highest! Check the video out for more!

Ippudo Adventure

Ippudo Ramen is one of the first few popular ramen chains to reach this little red dot from Japan. Ippudo's Tonkotsu broth was super rich in flavor and I love their Akamaru Shin-aji ramen! It has a combination of garlic oil as well as their miso paste which enhances the flavor of the broth bringing a new level to the original miso paste broth! It is one of the tastiest soup bases that I have ever tasted! It is slightly more costly than the previous two ramen places that I have introduced but you will not be disappointed! These are recommended by Seth Lui and LadyIronChef!

Price

Akamaru Shin-aji Ramen costs $16
Miso Tonkotsu Ramen costs $17
